Vixen released a new single on October 2nd, titled "Red," along with a music video directed by Drew Johnston and Vicente Cordero and edited by Ryan Conion .
This is the group's first work since 2006, when the album Live and Learn . The current lineup of the band includes Roxy Petrucci (drums), Lorraine Lewis (vocals), Britt Lightning (guitar) and Julia Lage (bass).
In an interview with Robert Miguel of Uvalde Radio Rocks [via Blabbermouth] , Petrucci commented on “Red”: “It’s energetic. I think it’s a good mix of the old 80s with new stuff. New Vixen 2023.”
She also said: “We worked with Fred Coury from Cinderella . He’s a great songwriter and producer, and he writes jingles for soundtracks and things like that. So we met with him, and he had this song and showed it to us. We said, ‘Okay, let’s take this and make it our own.’ And that’s what we did. And it turned out killer. It’s a good representation of this new Vixen. So I think the fans are going to like it. I mean, we like it. We owned it, we like it, and we’re going to release it and see if it catches on.”
